Billie Adult Female in Detroit, Michigan

My story
How many times can one learn to trust again?

Billie has been through it all.

This girl, as most of our dogs, was secured as a stray. She is incredibly emaciated, which is nothing out of the ordinary.

Yet even with food and treats present, there is such a particular painful hesitation in Billie. She has lost in the game of trusting humans over and over and over again.

Billie has been bred and dumped, she's been starved, and she's also been chained - until the collar dug a deep wide wound into her neck. The infection in the severe cases is often deadly, but Billie survived.

This scar from the embedded collar looks at least a year old - but her memories keeps resurfacing whenever people are present.

-THIS-AND NOTHING ELSE IS WHAT OUR WORK IS ABOUT. IF YOU SEE US TABLING AT EVENTS WITH CUTE PUPPIES - IT'S BECAUSE WE WANT YOU IN. ON THIS.

Billie does not just deserve a home. She deserves that we all learn from this and change.

Who wants to foster Billie? She covers in a corner, expresses herself mildly and tries her very best.

We cover all food, supplies and medical care throughout the fostering period. The adoption fee for adult dogs (including spay surgery, vet care, vaccines, dewormer, microchip) is $275.
